Brief Answer:
Shingles is localized to a dermatome. Does not spread

Detailed Answer:
Hello. thank you.
I am Dr. kakkar(Dermatologist and Venerelogist).
I have noted your concern.
Shingles is due to reactivation of dormant Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) in spinal root ganglion and it usually manifests as a stripe or band of painful fluid filled lesions on one side of the body along the distribution of that particular spinal nerve( dermatome). It is localized and does not spread from one part to another body part.
