Brief Answer:
aortic valve leakage may be these.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your query and will help you in best possible way if you can provide some more information:

From your history what I guess is you are having asthma and aortic valve leakage or regurgitation. Both this condition presents with shortness of breath. To help you in better way I would like to know,
- Do you get shortness of breath when lying down,
And exertion???
- Do you get tightness in chest on exertion???
- Do you get palpitations???
- Do you feel the shortness of breathe has worsened with the weather change?
I would like to know name of the pump, dose, frequency your using?

Awaiting your response...

Regards

Hi doc , I feel much better after my jogging or cycling . I feel breathless whole day otherwise . I am unable to complete my breath and I don't feel content plus I can't yawn completely . I feel better when I burp . I am using foracort 200 two puffs daily since two days . My pft and x ray are normal . My aortic valve leakage EF is 65 percent which according to my cardiologist is normal and I don't need to worry as of now . Have uploaded my two different reports of 2 D echo done in different hospitals . I have stress ECG reports as well which are normal . Let me know if u wNt me to upload them . I don't feel tired or fatigue after exertion as the leakage symptoms suggest . I don't have a chest pain or palpitation . My BP is normal all the time 120/80 . I use to run 10-15 kms 6 days a week but since this problem has come up I have cut down my workout tym .

Brief Answer:
aortic regurgitation causing it is unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for uploading your reports and giving history,
I have gone through it and will guide you in best possible way,

You have mild aortic regurgitation with normal left ventricular structure,
On exertion you don't have any symptoms.so aortic regurgitation causing shortness of breath is unlikely,

Your chest xray and pft are normal,

Usually change in weather precipitates asthma causing shortness of breath. Try to Keep your self warm,

Keep continuing with drugs. Foracort 200 two times a day- its a standard treatment, you have been taking for two days. You will feel better in a day or two as you continue it. If problem persists dose can be increased to 400 your treating doctor will be knowing it.

Besides this I would also start you on acid lowering drugs since you feel better with burping. Sometime acid reflux can cause breathing difficulties.

Hope this information helps.

Sorry forgot to mention that I have been a heavy smoker since 15 yrs and have given up smoking ( I do smoke two three puffs in a day when I can't control the withdrawl symptoms ) is that a reason for tightness and shortness of my breath ?
For how long I need not worry about my leakage problem ? Can I continue with my regular workout including little weight training ? Pls advise

Brief Answer:
consult a cardiologist every 6 months

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for you queries, I will anwer your queries in best possible way,

In mild-moderate aortic regurgitation, protocol followed is that every 6 month cardiologist is to be consulted and every 12 months a 2d echo is to be done,

If any time you feel exertional symptoms, fatigue ,palpitations ,cheat pain,
You should consult cardiologist,
Some drugs like diuretics if needed can be started,

You can get into exercises like walking, slow cycling
But not into heavy exercises,
Like weight lifting or jogging,

Regarding other question Smoking definitely affects,
Lung function causes chronic bronchitis,
But your pft and xray is normal,
I appreciate you quit smoking,
It will surely help

so recommend to continue with forocort pump it will help.if problem persist your dose needs to be altered as mentioned earlier your treating doctor must be knowing it.

Wish you a good health,
