Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Divalproex

Question: my g/f is 60 years and has been prescribed to take divalproex, take 1 tablet by mouth three times daily, each pill is 500mg TB . she went in the hospital for a back hurting and was held their for high liver condition by another one of her doctors. My reading is that the bad liver is caused by divalproex. ???

Divalproex is known for its hepatotoxicty. The raised liver enzyme that your g/f had is most likely to be due to divalproex. I recommend you to stop the drug immediately and approach your doctor if she is still on it
