Posted on Thu, 18 May 2017
Question: I am 91 yrs old. I was put on eliquis about 6 mos ago replacing plavix (strokes and afib). I am on 10 mg of prednesone for my PMR. I have been getting worse for months now, so much so that I cannot walk more than a few feet W/O having to sit and rest, also my hands shake so bad I cannot put my them and my fingers where I want them to go. 6 DR.s have said " they don't know whats wrong and it is my PCP,s problem. She has not found any. The U of Wash, XXXXXXX gen. hosp. St. Joes hosp. and Group Health (Kaiser Permanente) and AMER. LAKE Vets Hosp have all said "no" also. I am a WW2 vet and have Medicare parts A and B coverage, all in good order. I would go to Mayo Clinic. who have a discovery area ( U of W does not) but I can not as I am not able to travel more than very locally,(Tacoma,Wash) area.
If there is a charge for this service that is not covered by my insurances, send me that data prior to incurring any costs.
As you can see I have been through a long frustrating and discouraging time (over a year) trying to get bodily healthy as my mind is still in good shape but I am an invalid physically.

I just found out yesterday that Eliquis added to their TV ads the words similar to " May cause unusual tiredness and weakness" I will now follow up on this new lead with my heart Dr. as I did not suspect that my daily taking 2 pills of what I thought was safe may not be. It could be my problem . I will let you know.
