Question: Hello! Hope you are doing well.
I am writing to you becouse I have a problem. I am affraid that I might have an alergic shock. It all started 2 years ago while taking some abtibiotic. To tell the truth I don't know if it was a real shock or I was affraid of having one, but it all started again 2 months ago while I was taking a pill of selenium. I felt only warm from inside and than went to the hospital and the nurse said to me that was anxiety. Everything that I eat it seems to me that I will have an alergic reaction..Please tell me smth cause all this is driving me crazy. Thank you

Brief Answer:
Allergic response

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Mild allergic reactions are common and can occur to a number of external stimuli. If there is generalized rash on the body, shortness of breath, flushing of the face or loss of conscious involving the allergic reaction then anaphylactic shock can be diagnosed and treated accordingly. It does not occur in asymptomatic individuals without a trigger or cause. In case you have a rash or associated gastritis or allergic response with food, then anti histamines both H 1 and H 2 blockers can be advised for a month for improvement. If no such reaction is found on examination and testing then it can be related to anxiety related to a previous episode of allergy. You can relax , as based on this description, it appears to be an allergy that can be controlled.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks

Thank you for responding. Other time I have had a shortness of breath and fast heart beating, a litle but nausea, not rash on the body or flushing of face. Now I see that frequently I have some gastrits. But nothing more than these symtoms. I don't know if it was anaphylactic shock, but the concern is that everything that I eat it seems to me like I have a lumb at my throat or returnes the shorten of breath and my throat beggins to burn. I dont know what it is but do you think that I have to make the prick test of alergy?

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

Its not anaphylactic shock.

The gastritis or GERD should ideally be treated with gastrokinetic agents like domeperidone and PPIs like pantoprazole for 2 weeks. Most likely the symptoms will improve.

You can get a skin allergen test done. No harm in doing so.

The shortness of breath should be evaluated. Pulmonary function tests , x ray chest can be advised to look for a cause, in consult with your doctor.

Thanks.
