Brief Answer:
Do some tests

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking in HCM

I can understand your concern

According to the history you provide the cough is due to the sinus secretions from sinus congestion.
The cough is a protective reflex of the lungs from the agents coming in the airways.

Sulphameth-trimetoprim is an antibiotic itself.

In your situation if the cough lasts for a long time (two weeks for example) better to do some tests as follows :

Chest X Ray
CRP

The above are for exploring lung diseases causing the cough and if they come positive you will take antibiotics

If they are negative than you can take a medication for suppression of the cough called Codein (in tablet form, twice) for some days.

Please better to discuss with your doctor about these tests.
