Question: I have sinusitis. what medication should i take? I happenned to have Sulfamethox/trime 800-16 at home. Will it help? Thank you.

Hello, Thank you for posting your question on HealthcareMagic.
Trimethoprim -Sulfamethoxazole is not the drug of choice for sinusitis.
First and foremost please take steam inhalation thrice a day.
You can take over the counter decongestants like sinarest.
It contains acetomenophen,pseudo ephedrine and Chlorpeniramine.
If you have fever or the congestion is very bad you can take Tab Augmentin DUO 625mg twice a day for 7 days .Provided you are not allergic to it . Get it prescribed by the local doctor.
