Suggest Treatment For Skin Rashes Despite Taking Terbinafine And Fluconazole

Question: Hi. I have been suffering with a skin allergy similar to Tinea Cruris for the last few years. I have rashes around my thighs and lower abdomen. When it is severe they turn red and form a thread like pattern with severe burning and itching. My dermatologist prescribes FLUCANAZOLE once a week for 2 to 3 weeks. Once he also prescribed TERBINAFINE for 3 days. When i take the medicine the allergy subsides but comes back after 1 or 2 weeks. Once my doctor doubted it to be psoriasis and said there is no cure to it.
I am fed up by taking medicines continuously for its cure. Any help with greatly appreciated.
I got my sugar test done and it is within normal limits. Please help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
Your treatment duration was not adequate to result in a complete cure.
Though, terbinafine tablet is the right choice for treatment of fungal infection but the duration of treatment is usually 2-4 weeks rather than just 3 days. Inadequate treatment is bound to result in relapse of infection.
I suggest you to take oral terbinefine 250 mg (Zimig tablets) once daily for at least 2 weeks. In addition I also suggest you to use topical terbinefine 1% (Zimig cream) cream, twice daily for 4 weeks.
Regards
