Posted on Fri, 19 Feb 2016
Question: It seems I have symptoms for something more than XXXXXXX horse and it's getting worse. I am falling asleep without warning during the day. I can hardly drive without getting sleepy, After being up from seeping through the night(except dealing with the leg cramps, which have gotten more frequently, lasting longer, they were in the calf of my leg, but have gone up further and further, like up to the hip, it feels like a chain saw cut into the side on my whole leg, ankle, too. I take lasix and potassium regularlly. I have four stints and take medicine for afib. I'm wondering if I should go to the heart hospital emergency (after the severity of the cramps last night) ?Could these symptom indicate the possibility of a blood clot? I am plagued with extreme fatigue .
.

thanks, XXXXXXX Sxxxxxxxxs ( YYYY@YYYY )

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sandra!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I read carefully your question and would explain that your symptoms (increased sleepiness) may be related to a CPAP dysfunction and exacerbation of sleep apnea.

I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical examination, a polysomnography and a blood gas analysis. You should check the function of the CPAP machine.

Regarding the muscular cramps, they could be explained by hypoxia (related to sleep apnea), but also to an electrolyte imbalance.

I recommend performing a complete blood tests and blood electrolyte levels (including potasium, calcium, chloride, magnesium, sodium).

Besides, Lasix intake, could lead to muscular cramps.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been of help!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Could you please re-upload your tests again, so I can review them.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

I am afraid that there has been a problem in the system while uploading your test reports. I can not see them.

Could you please re-upload them for me to review? What kind of tests did you perform?

Greetings,

Dr. Iliri
