Suggest Treatment For Slight Constipation And Burning Sensation At The Anus During Defecation

Question: Hi, i"ve been slightly constipated and I think I have a hemorrhoids. Around the anus, the tissue burns every time I used the restroom. I've been cleaning the area with wipes and then applying desitin cream. The area became inflamed when I had a serious case of diarrhea for a few days - I took immodium. Now I have the opposite problem. Prior to all this I took too much ibuprofen and it caused blood to show in my stool (I'm not supposed to take anti-infl. because I had a gastric bypass.

Should I take a stool softener/ laxative? The inflammation if on the outside of the anus - I've used witch XXXXXXX wipes for that area. Should I get a hem. cream or is desitin enough? How soon should I feel some relief from this?

Hello,

I can understand your concern. As per your history, you have diarrhea for few days, so anal inflammation may be because of that. Cause for blood in stool may be constipation, hemorrhoids, fissure.

I'd suggest you to apply ointment containing combinations of beclomethasone and lignocaine. As these are prescriptions medicine, kindly consult with your doctor. As you underwent gastric bypass, so for constipation and blood in stool, you can take syp. Lactose in small dose after consultation. Drink lot of fluids. Kindly consult with surgeon for detail local examination to rule out possibilities of hemorrhoids and fissure. Don't take NSAID, for pain you can take tab. Paracetamol 500 mg. Kindly follow up if you have any query. Take care.
