Suggest Treatment For Slight Discomfort On The Knee
Question: Today at work I bent over to remove a lid and I bent my knees slightly as I've done 100's of times. When I came up and started walking I notice a slight discomforts in my left knee right around my knee cap. This was 8:30 am by lunch time I felt as if when I bent my knee from the sitting position if someone stuck a needle into it. I am able to walk and even run with no pain but bending it or lifting heavy things and walking causes the sharp pain. I do have minor swelling. I heard no pop or anything. Also lifting it from a seat position causes pain.
Also note that I went running about three hours after initial pain and I had really no issues running. When I do a lunge type movement it's painful but not just walking anymore. The pain when it hurts it's more of a needle stuck and neausea feeling in the knee area on the knee cap and down below it and some above it into my thigh feels kinda cramps some. Also taking a picture

Brief Answer:
Seems to be muscle strain.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
From description it seems to be muscle strain as there is pain on movement (on bending and lifting weight).
To get relief and for early healing -
Give rest to your knee and avoid any movement that aggravate the pain.
Do hot fomentation to relieve the spasm.
Take antiinflammatory drug like ibuprofen to reduce pain and inflammation.
Apply pain relieving gel over affected area.
Hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any more concerns.
Warm regards.

I was worried about the area on the images I provided being s meniscus or acl. It's kinda stiff right now but pain is minimal as of tonight
Brief Answer:
Not seems to be due to meniscal or ACL tear.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Area on the image is patella (knee cap) region. As there is no any popping and locking symptoms, it not seems to be due to meniscal or ACL tear.
If your symptoms persists, you can go for MRI for better diagnosis.
Wishing you speedy recovery.
Warm regards.
