Brief Answer:
different types of medication may help

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

BPH is a common problem as men age.

IN persons whose symptoms are mild, treatment mainly involves monitoring.

Since it is affecting your quality of life, medication or surgery (if very severe or symptoms very bothersome) are the main courses of management.

In terms of medication: (1) tamsulosin (flomax) is one of the most common meds used

(2)terazosin, doxazosin can also be used but at high doses may cause low blood pressure on standing, dizziness, fatigue

(3)cialis has been approved by the FDA to treat 2 conditions-both BPH and ED

(4)finasteride (proscar) and avodart- these help to decrease the size ,though they must be taken consistently for at least 6 months for this to occur

May be taken with flomax initially when size decreases

If medication is not effective or symptoms severe then surgery can be considered.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
