Suggest Treatment For Small Bump And Irritation In Mouth

Question: I have a small irritation behind my one of my teeth in the front. The irritation is on the roof of my mouth right behind the tooth. There seems to be a small bump as well that i can feel with my tongue but no pain. I thought i may have burned the roof of my mouth from eating something hot the other day. Any ideas ?

1.Do you find any change in co lour of your front teeth? - no however these teeth have veneers and crowns so i'm thinking I wouldn't notice a color change
2.Do you have history of any trauma in your front teeth or any kind of fall/Hit against hard objects if you remember? No trauma, the only thing is that i first felt this a couple of nights ago and i had eaten something hot. I thought i may have burned it and it was a small blister i was feeling.
3.Do you have any gum problems associated like bleeding? No bleeding
4.If possible please take an image of the lesion and attach it here.
Its tough to get to but will try to upload an image

Brief Answer:
Chronic abscess
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for reply.
Based upon the given details here it appears that there is chronic abscess developed there.
Please see your dentist for a small radio graph. This will give you exact idea if there is any cyst/abscess developed. You might require a course of antibiotics for speedy recovery.
So in my view please see your dentist once.It does not appear to be a case of burnt mucosa since you have no pain.
Hope it helps.
Please let me know for further doubts.
Thanks.
Take care.

Is there anything i can do to make sure things do not get worse or increase in severity, , i.e, should i rinse with warm salt water or apply any type of topical ointment.
Thanks, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Warm saline rinses advised.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for reply.
you are absolutely correct in your approach. You must do warm saline rinses(pinch of salt added to warm water) twice daily. This helps in reducing as well as localizing the infection.
Topical application of ointment is not required as it non ulcerous in nature.
Do not touch or prick it.Just follow your routine brushing and flossing until you see your dentist.Hope it helps.
Please let me know for further doubts.
