Detailed Answer:
Hello -

A lump under the jaw, depending on the size, can be a lymph node that is inflamed or a salivary gland. If it is superficial and just in the skin, it can be a variety of things including an epidermoid cyst.

Given that it is tender to touch, apply hot wet compresses to it a few times a day. If it doesn't go away, then it should be examined by a doctor.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.

Thank you for your answer, but what would cause the lump to have an impact on my right ear. My initial question stated that the area was tender to touch and caused an itchy tingling feeling in my right ear.

Detailed Answer:
What happens in the mouth and associated salivary, throat and neck glands can affect the ear too. The eustachian tube connect the throat with the ear. And also the facial nerve has branches to both the ear and jaw.
