Suggest Treatment For Soft Tissue Injury From Ankle To Shin

Question: Was playing volleyball last night when a team player ran towards me after I hit the ball to it and slammed into me on a slide. His foot or knee slammed into my shit and lower ankle. I noticed within seconds that a vein was popping just above the ankle up my shin. I stopped playing put ice on it right away and sat out a game. After about half an hour it could move, swollen vein was down. So I went back out to play three more games. I came home walked my dog and then as I entered my home it popped again and stung a bit. I immediately put ice on it for about two hours. It went down. I am today also icing. Should I continue to do this for a few days and keep it up? or should I go see a doctor as soon as possible?
Brief Answer:
Continue icing and keep it elevated.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
I have gone through the image provided. it seems to be soft tissue injury. .Beside icing and elevating it, you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid putting weight and rest well. If it persist I suggest you to visit an orthopaedic surgeon for further evaluation
