Suggest Treatment For Soft Tissue Injury In The Calf Muscles
Question: Good evening.
This time last year I was doing some work outside my home with a shovel and hurt my calf on accident. My foot slipped forward off the shovel and my lower calf hit the shovel's edge instead. Initially there was very intense localized discomfort, a bit of swelling and of course bruising. Fast forward to the present... The location of impact on my calf when touched has the feeling of an indention, the muscle in the area seems hardened or tight and is still extremely sensitive to touch. Does this seem like something I should seek treatment for or could you please offer insight as to what I may be experiencing?

Brief Answer:
Can be due to a scar tissue.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The tight and hardened muscle in the area with an indentation could be due to scar tissue in the area due to the injury. It was a soft tissue injury and should have healed by now. Taking any treatment now will not help you much. It is better to do a hot compress and apply a local analgesic gel in the area whenever you feel pain in the area.
I hope this answers your query.
