Posted on Tue, 11 Oct 2016
Question: I believe I was bitten in the back (2 bite areas) last week approx 8 days ago while citing downed trea limbs in my back yard (Dunstable Massachusetts) . The bites are itchy and sore. Mid week I noticed soreness and fluid under my right arm and quick stining pain toward my right chest - breast area. I did visit a walkin clinic on Friday and they prescribed a antibiotic (500 mg) . I don't feel like there is any improvement. There is no fever to date.

Brief Answer:
As explained below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Male/60 - bitten in back 8 days ago - itchy and sore - noticed soreness and fluid under right arm - and quick *stinging pain towards right chest - breast area - walk-in clinic - prescribed antibiotic 500 mg - no improvement ...

With the the history you have provided the soreness and fluid under right arm could have been due to allergic reaction extended to this area or neurogenic by referred pain thus causing the soreness and fluid due to excessive sweating.
The pain going to the breast area indicates that it is most probably a referred pain via the inter-costal nerve affected in the back.

Please post the actual, clear and focused photographs of the lesions in back, of under the arm area and whichever additional history that you can provide.
You may need additional antihistamine, oral steroids and medicines to reduce the neurogenic pain.
Please discuss these points with your Doctor to get an appropriate diagnosis and proper management ...
