Question : Im a male 20 . Ive been having sore muscles after minimal exertion. My joints and jest keep cracking and they are starting to hurt a littlw . It feels like all my muscles bones amd joints are like getting weaker or deteriorating . Could it be a serious disease ? Im freaking out . I dont wanna be paralyzed or something

Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that , either this can be neuropathy or primarily muscle disease that can give this kind of symptoms . Also certain vitamin deficiencies can also lead to similar presentation , like vitamin D .

First of all please send me any investigations that have been done till date in this regard . If you havent been investigated I will give you a set of investigations that needs to be done .Plus any other symptoms you have apart from this please tell . Do you get any oral ulceration, genital ulceration , tingling and numbness in legs plus did you ever get any joint swelling , all these are important in guiding your further . Whether its serious or not cannot be said at present we need to find the etiology first .

Ive started taking viramin d about 3 weeks ago. I did have numbness and tingling but that stopped about a couple of weeks ago. Ive only had blood tests . No joint swelling

Dear Sir,

Then you should first get your muscle enzymes done , CPK, LDH, Aldolase to look for any muscle involvement . Also get ANA , ESR done . If all this comes normal then evaluation for nerve involvement should be done . So we need to see these first , you can also discuss this with your treating doctor .
