Suggest Treatment For Sore Muscles And Joints Pain

default
Posted on Thu, 16 Feb 2017
Question: i am a almost 64 year old male, with no systemic conditions. I do not take any medications, save for daily vitamin and more (lately)frequently aleve, aspirin, ... for sore muscle / joint pains. I recently had a physical, very good, and colonoscopy, excellent. About 10 days ago i noticed in my ball joints (both hips and shoulders) as noticeable level of pain when i get up from a resting position. Sometimes i have real pain in my upper arms lifting them above my head. This last weekend I spent several hours cleaning/moving large items in out basement, and felt much better for at lest two days after. Should i be concerned?

Brief Answer:
Osteoarthritis, Cervical spondylosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

I understand your situation.

You seem to be having features of Osteoarthritis. This causes pain in the joints and difficulty in executing movements at the affected joints.

Cervical spondylosis in the spine at the back of the neck can cause difficulty in raising the arm as well as arthritis of the shoulder.

Do get Xray of the shoulder and cervical spine so that I can find the problem and discuss the remedy.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu
