i have sore muscles in my upper back and right chest. it seems the pain is constant. what is a good treatment. Ice, heat or anything else? i do have degenerative disc disease is my lower back. thanks

I am so sorry to hear about this pain that you have reported. I will like to know if you have any other symptoms and for how long this pain has been going on?
If it is of acute onset and you are sure is it just the muscles, then a combination of Tylenol and Ibuprofen would produce great relief. I will recommend take doses recommended by your pharmacist. For adults, I often recommend At most 4grams of paracetamol a day in 4 divided doses and a maximum of 2.4grams of Ibuprofen in 3 divided doses. Applying cold packs and some massage would also help.
I hope this helps. If the pains should not reduce significantly within 3days, I suggest you seek examination and investigation. I wish you a speedy recovery.

this has been going on for a few months. i get pains on right side of chest under my breast, my right side and right side back. ekg is fine. can all this be from spine? I am getting disgusted with this. I am going to a pain management center this week for a consultation. I took duexis for 10 days and it did not help. Thanks

iwent to pain management. Gave me a shot in my lower back and getting one on my mid back spine. would this help with pain in my upper back and right front chest? Also, an mri of my spine and neck. why would I need both? Wont the spine show the neck? would this show muscles if that is problem? thanks in advance
