Suggest Treatment For Sore Tender Area On Side Of Forehead After An Injury
Question: My daughter was playing on a trampoline and was kicked on the side if her head by accident . They were in the middle of doing flips.. This happened Sunday evening. She developed a goose egg immediately . We applied ice. She was not knocked out when it happened just shocked and crying. She slept fine. Woke up next day swelling was a little down. Played fines lol day on Monday. No headaches. Just very sore and tender around the area almost soft like near the corner of forehead ..black in blue and of course a black eye. Should I be concerned about anything . She only complains that it is tender and hurts when touched and that area above eye near corner of forehead is more sore than before but that is about it.. Should I take her for cat scan? I am concerned about bleeding within...not sure if I should be or just being over concerned and a worried mom. She is 11 .

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thank you for the query.
It is very hard to rule out bleeding without ct scan. Please note that head is closed structure where it is hard to look inside.
Even if there is no symptoms like nausea, dizzinesd, headache, still bleeding is possible. Bruise indicates that the injury was quite strong.
So for her safety, more as a precaution she should have head ct or at least neurological examination.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
