Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Your symptoms are most likely caused by some infection in the mentioned area. It can be tooth infection, salivary gland inflammation, internal ear infection. It can be caused by bacteria resistant to Z-pack.
As the source of infection is close to the brain and close to the mediastinum, you should not ignore it and wait with it. Please consult laryngologist and dentist as soon as possible.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.

Is it possible that I have a blocked eustachian tube or maybe a stopped up ear canal that needs cleaning out?
Brief Answer:
Yes, it is possible.
Detailed Answer:
Yes it is possible. You would be able to feel it kind of strange inside the ear when swallowing.
But both factors can be a reason of ear inflammation. So unblocking it is only a part of the treatment.
