Suggest Treatment For Soreness Under Left Breast After Injury
Question: I fell a week ago. Landed with my left rib cage against a pipe. Very sore under left breast and in my back behind that area. Have taken arnica and used arnica gel. If there is a fracture what could be done for it? Should it be xray? Saw chiropractor yesterday thinking ribs could be dislocated....she was very careful. Continue to be very sore! Movement is uncomfortable! Breathing doesn't change the pain..
Brief Answer:
X ray recommendable to rule out rib fracture
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
if you were my patient i'd send you to get x ray to rule out any fracture of the rib. However, a throracic bruise can cause pain for several weeks. So please continue pain treatment, possible medication can be ibuprofene or similar NSAIDs as advised by your local doc.
Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards

What can be done if it is fractured?
Brief Answer:
Rib fracrure mostly treated with pain medication only
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
A rib fracture is in most cases non-dislocated, therefore it gets treated with pain medication just like a bruise and can also hurt for a few weeks, X-ray is only meant to rule out rare case of dislocated fracture, which in rare cases needs operation.
Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarifications you can get back to me. If this was helpful please kindly rate my answer.
