Suggest Treatment For Sores In The Buttocks
Question: I have a small sore on both sides at the top of my butt crack. It just appeared. There is no puss or liquid- it's just raw and tender to touch and wipe after a bowel movement.
I've tried vitamin E and even aloe. The aloe burned. I'm on day number three.
I've looked at pics online of herpes. These don't appear as the pics and it is inside and not outside the very top of the buttock crack.
I'm a healthy XXXXXXX male.
I can take a pic to send if needed.

I submitted a picture as requested.
To restate there were no blisters or or puss - rather woke up and the sore was there. I went horse back riding for the first time a few days ago and didn't know if this could be the cause?
Please let me know if you did not receive the requested photo.

Brief Answer:
Use a topical antibacterial ointment
Detailed Answer:
Thank you. I have viewed the Image.
Its a split in skin. Horse riding could be a factor. Its not herpes
I suggest you to just use a topical antibiotic e.g 2% mupirocin ointment, twice daily.
Regards

I sent a follow up picture. There are two sores/openings similar. Could this be a chancroid?
I had no blisters and there is no blood or pain when I have a bowel movement. I want to rule out herpes.
I have had slight pain with urination.
How long would this take to heal?

Brief Answer:
I would suggest swab test to confirm or rule out herpes i.e DNA PCR for HSV
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you.
I recieved your Image.
I can see erosions with well defined but irregular margins in perianal area. Sores of genital herpes can coalesce to form a polycyclic erosion(s) such as these. Therefore, apart from being a simple split due to horse riding, genital herpes is a definite possibility, especially considering your sexual history.
Does'nt look like chancroid clinically because chancroid is usually painful, friable and it bleeds.
I would suggest that you get a swab tested by DNA PCR for HSV 1&2, from these erosions for a confirmatory diagnosis of genital herpes. If it is indeed herpes it would require a week of oral antivirals.
