Brief Answer:
ATT should be instituted at the earliest for a better outcome.
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.
I have worked through your reports in detail.
The MRI scan shows mild to moderate severity of TB spine.
Additionally, the drugs prescribed to your aunt ate used to combat the autoimmune disorder of SLE, APLAS, Hypothyroidism. These drugs have to be continued indefinitely.
Now coming to TB spine, 2 protocols are used in the management -medical vs surgical.
Medical therapy consists of instituting the Anti Tuberculosis therapy ( ATT) for 6 to 9 months.
Surgery might be required only in cases where there is no response to ATT.
Hence at the moment, I advise her to take ATT therapy for TB spine with standard 4 drugs Isoniazid, Rifampicin , Pyrazinamide and Ethambutol.
Consultation with an Internal medicine specialist and an Orthopaedic surgeon wrt ATT will be helpful.
Based on the response and subsequent MRI scan reports, further management can be planned.
Post subject further queries if any.
Thank you .
