Suggest Treatment For Squamous Cell On Face
Question: I have small growth in my face. Test indicates a squamous cell. I am scheduled to have it removed next week, what should I expect and what is my next move?
Brief Answer:
Mohs procedure
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
This is called Mosh procedure and this means that surgeon is going to excise this skin lesion and right after the procedure , it will be examined under microscope to see if edges are clear of tumor.
This is routine procedure where healthy tissue is preserved as much as possible. Squamous cell carcinoma is a skin lesion which is actually tumor but it is not malignant as other carcinomas and rarely cause metastasis.
Also, it grows slowly and in most cases, is removed surgically and there is no need for further trend. So you don't need to be worried . It will be removed under local anesthesia and no significant scar will be seen.
Wish you good health.
Regards

Brief Answer:
not necessarily
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
For bleeding it is much more important that prothrombine time is fine and 70-80 trombocyte count is not critical.
So this should not be problematic. Also, these are small incisions and bleeding is not expected.
Wish you good health
