Suggest Treatment For Stiffness Of Hamstring And Pain In Lower Buttocks

Question: recently I was out running probably 3 weeks ago doing intervals at the track. on one of my takeloffs I felt my hamsting stiffen up and it caused me to quit. I've been running every three or four days but have discomfort not in my hamstring but in my right lower buttock. when I walking there is no pain but as soon as I sit it hurts till I can't stand it. I usually sit on my left buttock to take the pressure off my right or I just stand up but that is hard to do when you are driving. like I said my hamstring is fine but that bone in my right lower buttock is not good. what can I do other than give it rest? will stop running help it?
