Suggest Treatment For Stomach Bloating And Vomiting
Question: My wife has stomach bloating and moderate pain. She has had several bowel movements and vomiting. She has not eaten today. She is 54 and overweight. We are on vacation in AZ. She has had much more physical activity and restaurant meals. She doesn't drink.

Pepto-Bismol 2 tablets 4times daily for 2weeks decreases diarrhoea and shortens duration of illness. You said she tried it but please don't discontinue it and keep taking along with other medicines, which I usually prescribe to patients at my clinic. Those medicines include ORS (oral rehydration solution) or Pedialite to replenish the fluids and electrolytes. Plus, Lomotil, an antidiarrheal agent 5mg/0.05mg combination per oral four times a day. ( if she has blood in stools, don't use Lomotil). Plus Ciprofloxacin500mg per oral twice daily for 7days.
For some of the medications, you need to consult her physicain for a prescription. If she is allergic to Ciprofloxacin, dont use that.
