Suggest Treatment For Stomach Pain Radiating To Middle Back
Gastrointestinal infection, abdominal cramps
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
Thanks for the query.
Since your daughter has diarrhoea, abdominal pain in the form of cramps radiating to the back, it is possibly a gastrointestinal infection.
Most commonly this occurs after eating new foodstuff recently, lack of proper hand hygiene, viral infections which can spread from person to person.
I advise you to give her Oral rehydration solution which comes in the form of sachets in the World Health Organisation (WHO) formula available at any medical store. Empty one XXXXXXX into a bottle of purified water and she needs to consume this as much as she wants. This WHO formula ORS will automatically arrest the loose stools and also prevent weakness by repleneshing all the lost nutrients in the diarrhoea.
Also she can take antibiotic like Tablet Ofloxacin and Ornidazole combination which is very helpful in treating common gastrointestinal infections. She should keep well hydrated. She can eat bland soft food without oil like toast, curds, oats porridge, drink plenty of water. Avoid smoking and alcohol, milk and junk food.
Also to reduce the pain she can take Tablet Buscopan twice a day which will arrest the muscle spasms.
If these remedies do not help in 2-3 days, or if she isn't improving, she needs to see a Gastroenterologist to rule out more sinister infections, malabsorption, intolerance or allergies.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
Thanking you.
