Suggest Treatment For Stomach Upset And Rectal Bleeding Post Enema
Brief Answer:
It depends
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
Do you think you injured yourself giving the enema. If that is the reason for the bleeding then it should heal up on its own.
If you do not think that you injured yourself giving the enema then the blood from the rectum is a concern.
While maple syrup enema is not something we would advise, ill effects from it should pass in 6-12 hours or so.
Drink lots of water and if you feel constipated try some miralax, not another enema.
If the bleeding was not due to injury during the enema then see a doctor right away to determine the cause.
Please let me know if you have further questions

I believe the blood issue is prexisting and never quite healed up. My wife and i have experienced with some anal play in the past and this is what i have attributed it to in the past. So perhaps i reaffected the damaged area. I just hate to go to go to the doctor unless truly necessary. Am i facing anyserious risks?
Brief Answer:
no probably not
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for the follow up.
If you think the bleeding may be from some prior trauma then you are really not at risk just form the enema. Just push the fluids and eat lots of fruit and fiber to keep your stools soft.
However, if the bleeding does not end fairly soon then you should probably be seen and checked for a source of bleeding.
