I started taking Ciplar 40 mg in morning and Tryptomer - 25 / 10 Mg at night. And I was very fine during this period. Last year in February I stopped the medicine But after 4-5 months my problem get back, not severe like that before. Just tightness in jaw and forehead. After again consultation with same doctor I am taking tryptomer 10 mg at night. It keeps fine to me. But sometime I feels tightness on forhead and jaws.

As far as more details about me. I am a software engineer, works for one US co. from home. My sitting hours are little more and my sleep is between 6-7 hours. I also go to gym 5 days in week.
Can you please guide me, how long i have to take medicine. Or if not how can i stop this and how to stop the symptoms comes back to me after stopping the medicines.

Brief Answer:
Stress headache can be cured only with lifestyle change.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar, a neurologist, here to answer your query.

Stress headache is by nature bound to come back on stopping the medicines. The reason lies in the pathogenesis of stress headache.'Stress' in the stress headache is a misnomer. It is not actually mental stress or tension, rather 'stress' here refers to a state of tension or tonic contraction or stress of muscle fibres of scalp, neck, face and jaw.It is this contracted state of muscle fibres of these areas that result in a feeling of heaviness or tightness, which is referred to as 'stress headache'.

Stress headache has its origin with our lifestyle.Mental tension, high anxiety levels, lack of sleep and excessive work hours-all these have been documented to increase the contraction of muscle fibres of scalp, neck and face, thus resulting in stress headache.

So,actual cure is change in lifestyle and eliminating these factors from your lifestyle.Fix your sleep hours to a minimum of 8 hours. Please start doing mental relaxation exercises like yoga or pranayama,on a regular basis.I am sure you will see significant difference within a week.Otherwise, you will go on taking 'tryptomer' for your life and 'tryptomer' will be your life.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any follow-up queries,I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review.

Brief Answer:
No tonics to cure stress headache.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX

Thanks for being in follow-up.

I did not expected to take you literally that 'tryptomer for life' thing. Although, Tryptomer is not having very harmful adverse effects as observed in clinical practice. However, some of the notable side effects are-
1)Overdose - Accidental overdose can result in drowsiness, coma, seizures and even death.
2)Allergic reactions, male sexual related problems can be observed.
3)In case of prostrate disease - it can result in urinary retention.
4)In case of cardiac risk factors or otherwise also in a few persons - it can result in cardiac rhythm disorders.

Though there is a long list of side effects, clinically observed side effects are not very frequent.
You should try to get rid of this drug.

No, there are no tonics in the market to cure stress headache.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any follow-up queries, I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review.
