Question : I was diagnosed with stress-related SVT in 2004 and take 240 mg of Diltiazem daily to stabilize my heart rate. The stress-causing problem has worsened- had some news tonight that shot up my heart rate. I feel hot all over. Can't sleep. Problem impacts Christmas events with my extended family. Should my husband and I have Christmas with my husband's side of the family instead? Help.

Brief Answer:
I recommend to have a small Christmas events...

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!

I read your query and understood your concerns. It all depend on how stressful is the "Christmas with your extended family".

In such a case I recommend to have a small Christmas events (with your husband's side of the family). This will avoid unnecessary stress and SVT.

Hope this will be of help.
Wish you health!
