Brief Answer:
Give some details please

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
bruising and skin discoloration is expected after being hit in the face. Feeling sick and nauseous can be normal as well unless it is very intense and causes vomiting, sleepiness etc.
Did you fade out after the hit? Do you remember what happened?
If you answered yes then a computed tomography of the brain would be recommended to exclude more serious damage to your head.
Ice helps reduce bruising. Do not apply ice directly on the skin. Use a towel to avoid freezing your skin. A good regimen is to apply the ice for 20 minutes every 2 hours for the first 48 hours after the injury.
If you have vision problems you should consult an ophthalmologist.
Symptoms that should raise concern and make you seek medical help immediately include the following:
- sleepiness
- vomiting
- other neurological problems like seizures, slurred speech, etc

I hope I've helped!

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,

swelling may cause arterial vibrations to be sensed as the throb you've mentioned, so it can happen. Watch out for the serious symptoms I've described in my previous answer. Also I assumed you don't feel pain (or were hit) elsewhere so I just concentrated on likely brain injury. If you're having other injuries as well, it would be helpful to mention them.

My best wishes for a fast recovery!
