Question: a few days ago I found a pea sized "pimple" on my left labia. I squeezed it but nothing came out but I did feel it separate under the skin. now my entire left labia is swollen with some kind of hard something inside it and a ball/lump that has adark tint to it is under my clitoris. It really hurts. not itchy or burning just very tender. I don't have any std's but I do have pcos.

Brief Answer:
It seems to be a Bartholin's cyst. It is a harmless condition.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through the details that you have provided. It seems to be consistent with Bartholin's cyst. It is a harmless condition.
Usually Sitz bath is sufficient to provide relief. Pain medication can be taken. Finally, if necessary, a minor surgical procedure can be done to drain the fluid inside if the previous methods do not help.

Thank you. It actually released and emptied last night. I feel incredibly better. I read other accounts and they say it should heal on it's own. I'm scared to go to the doctor this is so humiliating. What do I have to consider and is this going to heal properly? I don't have a fever.

Brief Answer:
Maintain proper genital hygiene.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I understand the humiliating situation. But illness is illness and you should feel no embarassment when you approach a doctor since you are going to a professional to resolve your health problem.
Often it resolves on its own but it is difficult to predict. Apart from maintaining a good genital hygeine nothing else is needed. It is only if it bothers you reasonably that you need to approach a doctor.
Let me know if I could be of further help.
Regards
