Question: I walked up a lot of steep steps (I have a tkr) and then steep incline. Next day knee was swollen and hurt in back Hard to walk on. Used ice, next day calf was swollen. This started Sunday. Now only calf is swollen but bruised in front of leg and back calf and ankle.No other symptoms, no coughing or shortness of breath

Detailed Answer:
A DVT can go into a pulmonary embolus but for now that hasn't happened with you. I didn't say you have a PE but that you're at risk for developing one. You need the Doppler venous studies right away
