With trauma in past, back pain is inevitable, needs supportive care and consult if surgical correction possible.

why is my left leg thumping
doctor
Answered by Dr. Shafi Ullah Khan (16 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Needs work up and management

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me

Thumping left leg with trauma history needs clinical correlation. The swelling could be a muscle spasm of one side due to postural abnormalities and neurological compressions or it could be some vascular issue and edema. Needs work up and clinical correlation. if raising the leg does not reduce the thumping or swelling, then its likely a muscle issue and correlated with the back pain and nerve compression common after accidents and traumas. Needs to be sorted out after thorough physical exam, neurological assessment in light of MRIs and other baseline work up.

I hope it helps.

I did a mri it came back normal
doctor
Answered by Dr. Shafi Ullah Khan (29 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Need further work up

Detailed Answer:
Swollen legs with normal MRI of back should be evaluated for then local causes like lymphedema, metabolic disorders, some fractures, musculoskeletal issues like ligament ruptures etc. Painful swollen legs is either musculoskeletal or vascular if the nerve entrapment is ruled out with normal MRI . Will need further work up to sort it out.

Hey do you think it could be blood clot
doctor
Answered by Dr. Shafi Ullah Khan (3 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Unlikely clots.

Detailed Answer:
A blood clot in the vessels is very very painful and it compromises the lifestyle, so i believe it is unlikely to be the blood clot of the the swollen limbs . Once the work up is completed including work up for vessel patency then the doctors may sort it out.

I hope it helps.

Answered by Dr. Shafi Ullah Khan (16 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Normal MRI

Detailed Answer:
Your MRI report of lumbar spine is alright and does not show any bulge in the disc or nerve root compression. Talk to your doctor or pain management expert to sort out other possibilities in it.
