Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain In The Underarm

default
Posted on Thu, 7 Jul 2016
Question: I have swollen fatty masses in my lymph glans on the backish side of my underarms. I got an ultrasound and there was nothing there that seemed problematic. I followed up with a breast exam and that was normal. My bloodwork was fine. However, I have slightly swollen and very slightly painful (like a bruise) lymph nodes under the arms more to the front. what could this be in an otherwise healthy (but sadly, obese) woman? any specialist you would advise me to see? Thanks!

Brief Answer:
maybe normal lymph nodes

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

As the ultrasound and clinical examination by a doctor were normal, it is not likely to be something serious.

Since you mention slightly swollen and painful swelling, the possibilities are, normal lymph nodes slightly inflamed due to trauma or unrecognized infection, fat necrosis or axillary breast tissue.

None of them are serious. If you want further peace of mind, you can see a breast surgeon.

Hope this helps.
Regards
