Brief Answer:
Do icing.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
From description it seems to be soft tissue injury. Do icing, it will be helpful in reducing the pain, swelling and inflammation. Give rest to the part. Get an xray done to rule out any bony injury.
Warm regards.

that didn't answer the question about the burning feeling from icing is that normal or not
Brief Answer:
Slight burning is of no concern.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Slight burning is of no concern but severe burning could occur due to ice burn. Do not apply ice directly over skin. Firstly wrap it in a towel or cloth and then apply it over affected area.
Hope this helps you.
Warm regards.
