Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Jaws While On Ibuprofen

Question: I recently noticed swelling under my right jawbone. It has doubled in size since yesterday, there is a large lump tender to touch and warm to touch as well. Warm compresses help, but the only medication I have taken is Ibuprofen. It is visible to look at it, almost like the mumps would look. Any suggestions for me?

It hurts when I try to eat solid foods, I get a feeling where the swelling is like I have bitten 8nto something sour, so yes, I guess there is increases salivation. I am not having fever or chills, just the swelling, feels like a hard peach pit there, gets better and less firm with warm compresses. I hope this helps you a little better. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for your feedback.
This looks more of a problem of the sub-mandibular gland, most probably due to blockage of the duct opening in the mouth - the commonest cause being a stone in the duct.
This can be confirmed or ruled out by:
Clinical evaluation and examination - particularly the digital that is finger test of the floor of mouth as large stone can be felt and confirms the diagnosis.
Associated high resolution ultrasound / X-ray and preferably a CT scan of the affected area give the correct diagnosis and gives a plan for further management.
