Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Uvula

Question: I went out with the guys last night and was drinking
budwiser and tequila. This morning I woke up with a swollen uvula. Its also longer than usual and hurts when i swallow. What does this mean?

Do you have swelling in the throat also?

The possible reasons for your symptoms could be:

1.Allergy-Allergy to any of the ingredients in the beverages you had yesterday. From your notes it appears to be mild. Do you have swollen throat also? If so, then it can cause breathing problems. So please consult doctor urgently.

2.Infection -It could be beginning of infection

3. Injury-This is unlikely in your case.

Please consult doctor. After examination he may prescribe antibiotics and anti inflammatory medicines like Brufen or just Brufen.

Do warm saline gargling 4-5 times a day to reduce the swelling. Drink plenty of warm water daily.
