Suggest Treatment For Swelling On Gums After Tooth Extraction
sinusitis, oroantral fistula, Antibiotics, antihistamines, surgery
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
As far as the sinus infection is concerned i have two possibilities.
It can be a sinus infection denovo(separate sinus infection) or it can be a complication of extraction resulting in oroantral fistula. This complication occurs when you get the molars removed and if the roots of the molars are very near to the floor of the maxillary sinus.
Nothing to worry, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole combination(if you are not allergic). You need to get some investigations done like orthopantomograph to confirm the diagnosis.
Once the diagnosis is confirmed we can treat accordingly. If there is just a sinus infection without oroantral fistula then antihistamines and antibiotics will clear the sinusitis.
If there is oraoantral fistula, then it has to be treated surgically.
Sinus infection following extraction is not dangerous, it can be managed. Nothing to get panic.
I hope i have answered your query. If any queries are there, then reply me back. Take care.
