Suggest Treatment For Swelling On Shin Area After Injury
Question: I scraped my shin pretty bad 2 weeks ago, it wasw healing fine then 4 days ago I accidentally scraped of the scab, now its red around it and when you push on the skin on my calf bone it sinks in and seems a little swollen. no pain. I cant go the the ER til Sunday. What is it causing the indentions and why wont a new scab form with a bandaid and Neosporin on there?

You seem to have developed a pyogenic ulcer .
keep the affected area clean and dry . Apply a topical antibiotic cream like mupirocin over the affected area twice daily .
Take some oral painkillers like ibuprofen or paracetamol to reduce the inflammation and pain .
You might a course of oral antibiotics if the lesion tends to persist or increase.
Do not apply any other cream or oil over the affected area.
Wear cotton clothes so as to decrease sweating and prevent further friction and infection .
