Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Sorry to know about your loss.
To recapitulate: Female/64 - swollen area under left jaw - Embrel - concerned about lymphoma since Father died of it - Saw Doctor on XXXXXXX 5, swelling was not there - swelling appeared 7 days after flu shot - tender to touch...

Lymphoma is usually painless and non-tender, develops over a long period of time.
Since you have got the swelling after a flu shot, it can be a reactionary response.

Please give additional information:
Does the swelling increase on eating or chewing?
What is the size and shape of the swelling?
Why is Embrel prescribed for?

I would advise you the following in such a situation:
First of all get the blood tests done to see whether there is an infection or not.
Get an ultrasonography to see whether this is lymph node or a salivary gland.
To get examined to see whether there is any focus of infection in the drainage area.
If the lymph node is present to go for FNAC if it is not responding to medical treatment and to go for biopsy if FNAC is not conclusive.
Getting the correct diagnosis helps to alleviate the fear as well as to get the real cause of it so that the treatment will be guided.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
