Brief Answer:
Kindly visit a general surgeon for incision and drainage and medications

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to HCM.

This is Dr.riyanka answering your query.

Sine there is a boil on the hip, it suggests infection.Depending on the size of the boil first the boil should be incised and drained and then medications should be applied.

If i was your treating physician/general surgeon after incision and drainage (out patient procedure), i would have recommmended:

1. Presription drug-Oral antibiotics- Ciprofloxacin and Tinidazole combination daily twice for 10 days.

2. Apply (Povidone-iodine0 antiseptic solution to clean the boil and apply a topical antibiotic like (Clindamycin 1%, Benzoyl peroxide 5% cream) and cover it up using a bandage so that it heals faster.

3. If there is pain then, Tablet diclofenac 50mg can be taken once daily for
3 days.

4. Tablet serratiopeptidase daily twice for 7 days for quick healing.

However, the antibiotics are prescription medication and you need to visit a physician .Also if the boil is bigger in size it may need incision and drainage(Small out patient procedure) so kindly do consult a physician and please dont be shy as we dont want any complications to occur for which you may need hospitalisation.

A doctor always keeps patient information confidential so you dont need to worry or be shy.

Hope this answered your query.
