Suggest Treatment For Swollen Finger After Injury

Question: I jammed a knuckle on my left ring finger yesterday and today it is swelling. How do I treat?
Brief Answer:
X-rays should be done.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
First of all it would be god to have an x-ray done to rule out a fracture.
Swelling is a normal thing after such injury. It takes a week or so for the swelling to disappear. During that time, hand elevation (put it on the pillow when lying down), lukewarm compresses and resting is the only thing you can do.
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
