Brief Answer:
Viral infection, consult further with his pediatrician,

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am sorry for the health situation your grandson is going through.

You are saying that he is having:
- swollen glands
- high temperature
- clammy to touch
- lower energy levels

for almost a week now. He is 2 years old.

From what you are reporting, it seems that he is going through a viral infection that might have been complicated with tonsillitis (angina) as he's having swollen glands.

It is important to control his temperature; give anti-pyretics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen syrup.
Dehydration is a common happening during a viral fever; so it is also important to keep him well hydrated. Encourage him to drink water, juice or warm tea/milk.
Avoid forcing him to eat until improvement.

Lower energy he's having is due to high fever and infection.

Usually, virosis will last up to 3 weeks, while the visible symptoms will continue for the first couple of weeks.

You are saying that you have not visited a doctor yet, but have tried amoxycillin. Please take note that this is an antibiotic and will not help with viral infection. As such situation has been going for a week now, I advise to send him for a consultation with a pediatrician to check for possible bacterial co-infection (angina, ears, lungs) and get them treated adequately.

Wish fast recovery!
