Question: yes, my 19 year old daughter started with swollen glands, sore throat. She went to the Dr and he said no flu, no strep throat. she then developed blisters on her gums, fever, chills and pain in her mouth. She went to the dentist, everything is good with her teeth, however they suggested cleaning when she gets better. They gave her antibiotics, rise her mouth with salt water, and also peroxide. Her girlfriend has come down with the same thing...with also blisters on her gums and gums bleeding. What could this be?

This is probably infectious mononucleosis. This is also known as kissing disease. It causes symptoms similar to strep sore throat. However, they would also have swollen glands especially around the neck and head region. Treatment consists in supportive treatment and there are no antibiotics for this. He should keep away from contact sports as this causes fragile spleen that can daily get ruptured.
