Brief Answer:
Continue the prescribed treatment
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I appreciate your concern for your father.I have reviewed all the records and case summary you have attached and I feel your father is under very good care and treatment. After suffering from
Kidney infection (
Acute Pyelonephritis) in XXXXXXX 2014 ,he has recovered well and is now without Dialysis since then .
CKD is a slowly progressive disease ,in which there is loss of kidney function over time.Gradually over years ,nearly all patients require some form of Renal Replacement Therapy.Your father seem to have recovered well ,since his kidney functions are stable with
Serum Creatinine around 5.You can plan for timely placement of a permanent access of dialysis(if required in future) like you arrange for surgical creation of
arteriovenous fistula,if possible .
Meanwhile what you can do is to take care of his Total Intake and Output. Monitor closely his urine output.Watch for any acute decrease in urine output. Watch for any
pedal edema, breathlessness, altered sensorium, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite etc. Monitor his Blood Pressure and Blood Sugars strictly.Give him small frequent meals containing more of solids.Watch intake of total liquids.Salt and water restriction is required in case of edema.
Hepatitis B vaccination should be also given.
Hope it helps
