Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Node In Groin Area, Nausea And Tiredness
Question: My GP thought I had a small hernia in my groin area, I saw the surgeon on Thursday and apparently it's a swollen lymph node. I'm all freaked out. He's sending me for an ultrasound to determine the size. I also feel out of sorts, and tired sometimes nauseous. Could this all be caused by my iud that was inserted over a year ago. This lump seems to have been there that long....or is it something more serious like Lymphoma?
Brief Answer:
ultrasound as soon as possible
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, I understand your anxiety related to the issue.
Just get the ultrasound done and don't be anxious as yet because in case it is a lymph node it can be due to multiple reasons ranging from a trivial one like a simple folliculitis of the skin of groin and thighs or tuberculosis and less commonly some cancer of the genital or anal region.
But in medicine common things are thought and evaluated first and are commonly seen so diagnosed easily.
In case it comes out to be a lymph node then it will be evaluated by a small needle biopsy (FNAC - Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy).
You can discuss the report of ultrasound with me anytime.
Wish you luck.

Dr Manisha.
