Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Neck Of A Child
Suggestion on cervical lymphadenopathy
Detailed Answer:
Hi.... I understand your concern. But you have given me excellent information that the size of the lymph nodes is around 1 centimetre to less than a centimetre. This clarifies everything, because what you are calling is called insignificant lymphadenopathy in medical terms.
I have calculated your son weight and height according to the age mentioned. His weight percentile is between 25th to 50th percentile and his height is at 10th percentile, both of which are excellent.
I will explain you what is the significance of the calculation. With the clinical symptoms which you are quoting the differential diagnoses or the possibilities are any blood related longstanding disorder like neoplasm or tuberculosis or other chronic granulomatous diseases. In these conditions the height and weight percentiles will be less than 5th percentile and moreover the child might have extreme pallor or anaemia and complete loss of appetite both of which you have not mentioned. I am happy about this.
In the neck region if the lymph nodes are above 1 centimetre, very hard, painful with associated loss of appetite and weight loss, then only these symptoms carry significance.
I just want to reassure you that nothing serious is happening in your kid. If you are still worried you can get a basic blood test like CBC done and if this is showing severe anaemia then I will suggest you how to proceed further. Please get back to me with CBC report if you are still in doubt.

This is a normal report - do not worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi... I have gone through the report and this is a perfectly normal report. Please do not worry and here after I suggest not to go ahead with any blood investigation when the child is doing well clinically.
Do not worry about the abnormalities noted as outside normal range in the report. It is very very negligible.
I wish your kid a bright future. If you need any future medical consultation and suggestions, I will be glad to help. You can approach me at the following link.

Suggestions on ESR and eosinophil count
Detailed Answer:
Hi.... I understand your concern.
Regarding ESR we need to worry only if it is around hundred or above, that too with other constitutional symptoms like very low hemoglobin and complete loss of appetite, joint pains and prolonged fever of more than 2 to 3 weeks. None of these are present in your kid. So do not worry about the ESR.
Regarding the eosinophil count I have already calculated the absolute eosinophil count. It is only 171 for your kid. This is a medical calculation and we need to worry only if the absolute eosinophil count is more than 440. So do not worry about this too.
Hope this helps and I will be glad to answer if you have any more queries regarding your son or the lab report.
